Monkey Shines 2: Gorilla Warfare was released in 2001 by Fantasoft as a sequel to Monkey Shines. You're controlling Darwin the Ape going through 5 different worlds and time periods as represented by: Rome, a Medieval castle, the end of the Cretaceous age, a space odyssey that crams in a lot of SciFi references, and the Simian City in the jungles of the Mayas. This is basic platformer stuff really -- avoid anything on the screen that moves since it will probably kill you, avoid falling too far because it will probably kill you, and avoid lava because that will most definitely kill you.

For some inexplicable reason, the past almost two decades have had the full version of this game feel like a missing Doctor Who episode (I reserve the right to reference Doctor Who given this game involves Darwin the Ape traveling through time in a tropical TARDIS and I am not joking).

I'll add a huge thank you to Mark Elliott, the original programmer, for providing me with a copy of this game. Included in this upload is the 1.0 version of this game with the 1.0.2 patch included but not yet used. I've done this in case someone wants to play the unpatched game, but I'd recommend after unstuffing this, running each patch against all the relevant files. (I noticed in particular the music doesn't run properly without the patch). I've also included the GameSprockets installer which you will need if you do not already have them. You can find the Level Editor in the patch folder.

Finally, when starting a game, actually selecting 'New Game' may fail in a very strange way. Use 'Addon World' instead and select the stock worlds manually.
